From Bollani to Bersani, a notte d’oro full of stars
On Saturday 9 October the most longed for night in
Ravenna returns, when the streets and squares of the old
city centre, the theatres and special locations are filled
with a vast number of events from 6 pm until the first light
of dawn. Events follow one after the other with concerts,
meetings with authors, poetry readings, exhibitions, guided
tours and a host of other things for all tastes, with the
participation of personalities of unquestioned fame such
as the artists Stefano Bollani & Enrico Rava, Samuele
Bersani, the writers Eva Cantarella and Colleen Gleason
and the photographer Mimmo Jodice. So many different
events in various parts of the city.
For Music: from 6 pm
in Piazza del Popolo dj set by Radio Studio Delta; from 9
pm jazz at the Alighieri Theatre with a concert by Stefano
Bollani and Enrico Rava, while at 10 pm local bands will play rock music in the Speyer Gardens and at 11 pm Italian
music will be performed in a free concert in Piazza del
Popolo by Samuele Bersani. Sacred and classical music can
be heard live in several basilicas and there will be concerts
and dj sets in public spots.
Contemporary Mosaics will be
the main feature in an exhibition in the Cloisters of the Oriani Library while in Via Mazzini from 9 pm L’Isola
dell’Oro will hold mosaic
workshops for everyone. At
the city Art Museum at 6 pm
Mimmo Jodice, one of the
greatest masters of Italian
photography, will present his
Visual installations. Poetry will be celebrated at the Conference Centre in
Largo Firenze at 9 pm by Ravenna Poesia with Oneiric Presences at midnight by Eva Cantarella with The many
faces of Ulysses.
In regard to Mystery: at 9 pm at Casa Melandri in Via Ponte
Marino, for the GialloLuna NeroNotte festival, the leading
roles will be played by vampires with the author Colleen
Gleason, followed by a guided tour of the most mysterious
places in the city. Finally, during the Notte d’Oro in various
locations the Komikazen International Comic Festival, the
Fatto ad Arte market by those with creative flare in Viale
Farini and the artistic handicrafts market in Piazza San
Francesco make for a delightful stroll in the city.
