The warmth of the hospitality
Dear guests, Welcome to Ravenna.
The city of art and culture welcomes you with an autumn full of events. First of all I would like to mention a new item: from 6 to 9 October The city I would like, takes place with meetings, creativity and information for the Ravenna of tomorrow, a project which is part of the candidature of Ravenna 2019 as European Capital
of Culture. By tradition, September is the month dedicated to Dante. Settembre Dantesco is a series of meetings, performances, conferences and readings dedicated to the great poet. The programme includes La Divina Commedia nel Mondo (The divine Comedy in the World), a unique event in the history of the popularisation of Dante in which different translations of the poem are presented.
The Dante 09 project will continue revisiting themes concerning Dante with its calendar of events that will bring famous authors to our city.
In September the city will be the setting for the Ammutinamenti the Festival of Urban Dance which will reflect the deep relationship that connects Ravenna to the sea. The City docks and the port will be the main locations of the event. On Saturday 9 October the entire
old city centre will celebrate its fourth Notte d’Oro.
Performances, concerts, guided tours of the historic buildings and entertainment will enliven the city until dawn. At the beginning of October Ravenna Jazz, one of the oldest jazz events in Europe, will also be back.
From 1 to 11 October GialloLuna NeroNotte will pay homage with various writers to vampire legend and from 26 to 31 October the international horror film festival Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest will occur.
From 5 to 7 November the eighth edition of Giovinbacco, the event dedicated to Sangiovese wine, will take place. And finally, from 11 to 14 November the tour of the chocolate-makers Art & Ciocc returns to Piazza del Popolo, a real triumph for those with a sweet tooth. Dear guests, I wish you an enjoyable stay and hope that your memories of Ravenna will bring you back for another visit.
